Forensic Psychology

Mark Prange, Ph.D.

Dr. Mark Prange specializes in forensic psychological assessments in matters related to family law. This includes consultation services to attorneys in the Tampa Bay area and across Florida. In his practice, Dr. Prange performs court-appointed parenting plan evaluations in family law-related cases and child custody evaluations as a court-appointed evaluator. He also provides work product reviews for attorneys interested in assessing the quality of psychological reports and parenting plan evaluations (i.e. child custody assessments).

Dr. Prange is available to review reports prepared by other evaluators, and offer commentary concerning the reasonableness of assessment instruments; the interpretation of assessment data and the convergence between opinions expressed and information provided in the evaluation. Dr. Prange assists attorneys with trial issues in custody cases. The work-product review will help the attorney conducting the direct examination to elicit from the friendly expert, useful information concerning deficiencies identified in the review of an evaluator's work.

Specialized evaluations frequently conducted by Dr. Prange within the context of a child custody assessment include; (1) parenting plan evaluation/child custody evaluations, (2) parental fitness evaluations, (3) domestic violence assessments, and (4) child alienation assessments. Other specialized services include; (5) expert testimony, (6) work product review, (7) assist attorneys at trial, (8) client/witness preparation, and (9) research psychological literature relevant to legal issues.
